Happy Rain - Weather App

I designed and developed the Happy Rain weather app, providing users with essential weather information in a visually engaging format. Utilising Python Flask, JSON, the Bootstrap framework, and the OpenWeather API. The web app displays current weather conditions, sunrise/sunset times, a 5-day forecast, and air pollution data for London, Edinburgh, and Paris. The app dynamically updates weather icons and descriptions and offers an air pollution index with colour-coded health guidance.

Queen Bee Café Website

I created a website for the fictional Queen Bee Cafe, aiming to translate their cosy atmosphere into a digital experience. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I crafted a visually appealing and fully responsive layout that showcases their unique offerings. The website features a custom-designed menu. I also implemented browse-only online shop functionality, providing potential customers with a preview of the cafe’s specialties.

QR Glen - Web app

I developed a dynamic web application using PHP and Bootstrap to promote Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline, Scotland. The website targets both visitors and locals, providing information about the park’s history and legends, as well as a scavenger hunt-style “Rubbing Trail.” Visitors could access clues by scanning QR codes placed strategically throughout the park. The app also features two additional walking trails: Historical and Gardens. In addition, I built a comprehensive admin panel for content management, including adding, modifying, and deleting information, images, trails.

My Opera - Prototype

I designed a high-fidelity prototype for an opera house website using Figma. The goal was to create a visually and informative prototype website that captures the elegance and sophistication of the opera experience. My focus was on developing a user-friendly layout, selecting a visually striking colour palette and typography, and incorporating high-quality imagery to represent productions and events, as well as opera’s etiquette for newcomers. One of the main feature was to preview famous opera arias directly on the website (e.g., the Queen of the Night aria)

Feeling Good App

During my internship at Feeling Good, a mental health app company, I gained hands-on experience in software development, content management, and quality assurance. My key responsibilities included:

Updated existing content and added new materials
Created test access codes and QR codes to access app
I designed and built an “App in the website—Audio Player” using WordPress
Thoroughly tested the Feeling Good app and identified and reported bugs to enhance the user experience.
Conducted accessibility testing to ensure a positive experience for all users.

Aill Whisky - Prototype

As part of a group project, I developed a brand identity and website prototype for the fictional whisky “Aill Whisky” using Figma. I conducted comprehensive research, including competitor analysis, target audience identification, and whisky design colours, and presented my findings to the team. These insights directly informed our design choices for the logo, website aesthetic, and overall tone, ensuring they would be impactful within the whisky market.

QR Glen - Prototype

To initiate the design of a QR Glen, I created a detailed and interactive prototype in Figma. This prototype allowed me to visualise the layout, design elements, and key features.

Story Valley Academy Erasmus+ Project

I participated in the Story Valley Academy Erasmus+ project, an international initiative promoting literacy, language skills, and cross-cultural understanding. During the project’s initial phases, I contributed to website design, collaborating with a diverse group of students on wireframing, prototyping, and accessibility planning. This immersive experience sharpened my design thinking skills, fostered multicultural collaboration, and provided me with practical problem-solving opportunities in an international team setting.

Serenity + Honours Project

My honours project explores the potential of haptic feedback to improve the relaxation experience within meditation apps.

Skills

I have a solid background in core web technologies. I create websites and web applications utilising HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap Framework, JavaScript, React, PHP, MySQL, and Python Flask.

WordPress Content Management Systems (CMS)

I am proficient at creating and customising WordPress websites and page building with Elementor and Beaver Builder plugins. In addition, I gained proficiency during my internship at Feeling Good.

My UX skillset includes research methodologies (surveys, competitor analysis, persona development, journey mapping), ideation techniques (mood boards), and translating concepts into actionable designs (user flows, wireframes, prototypes) using Miro and Figma.

I am experienced in using Git for version control, including committing, branching, merging, and collaboration workflows, both through the terminal and a GUI.

GitHub Collaboration: I applied Git and GitHub skills during my internship for project management, creating pull requests, resolving merge conflicts, and contributing to a team environment.

Committed to creating inclusive web experiences. I understand the importance of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and actively incorporate accessibility principles into my design and development process.
